Daywind Artists Recognized at the 2016 Absolutely Gospel Music Awards

Hendersonville, TN (April 13, 2016) – Daywind Records artists celebrated a great night at the 2016 Absolutely Gospel Music Awards, held at the First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, TN.

Karen Peck & New River were awarded Favorite Mixed Group, as well the overall Album of the Year for the GRAMMY nominated project, Pray Now.  Their #1 song, Pray Now, received Song of the Year.  Jim Brady Trio earned the honor of Breakthrough Artist of the Year, as well as recognition for their debut single, ‘Steppin’ Out In Faith’ as the top Traditional Song of the Year.  Additionally, Jim Brady was named the Favorite Artist Songwriter of the Year.  Amber Nelon Thompson received the award for Female Vocalist of the Year, and Michael English took home the honor of Male Vocalist of the Year as well as Fan Favorite Artist.  Shoulders, by Wilburn & Wilburn, was named the Favorite Country Project of the Year, and Tribute Quartet took home Special Event Project of the Year for their DVD/CD collection, Live At Daywind Studios.  The Browders’ music video, ‘Waiting For You To Get Home’ was recognized as the Favorite Music Video.  Finally, Kelly Nelon Clark was awarded the Susan Unthank Memorial Award for lifetime contribution by a female to Southern Gospel Music.

The award show, hosted by Josh Singletary and Gordon Mote, featured live performances from several of the nominated groups, including Daywind artists Karen Peck, Wilburn & Wilburn, The Nelons, The Browders and Jim Brady Trio.
