Karen Harding has just went into the studio and recorded a brand new “classics” album. Several songs are simple and there a few with a little more beef. However, you can’t help buy enjoy the timeless songs with her anointed voice. Let’s dig in a little deeper to some of the songs.

There isn’t much to “review,” as these songs are basic arrangements and rightfully so. Too much production can drown out the lyrics and this project is the perfect example of what a hymn’s album should offer to the listener.

“I’m Going Through” is the kick-off for the project. Beginning with piano and organ and then infusing a black-gospel feel, the listener cannot help but clap along when listening. “Love Lifted Me” is a simple yet incredible arrangement on the project. The church-y vibe on the entire album is especially evident on this particular song and will make a great concert feature with a congregation singing along.

Several songs are simple piano/vocal features and they don’t need anything more than what they are, including the heart-warming “Cross Medley” including (Jesus Paid It All, At Calvary and At The Cross). Timeless lyrics and a simple arrangement delivers the message in the clearest way. I love albums like this and Karen’s new project is no exception.

Throughout the album you can hear the conviction in Karen’s voice. If you are a fan of classic hymns, you will most definitely want to pick up your copy. Amazing album, Karen!
