Valerie Smith, Becky Buller, Rebekah Long & Ernie Evans make up the talented bluegrass band, Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike. From her roots in Missouri to her home with her family now in Tennessee, you can hear in her voice that Valerie Smith has music flowing through her veins. Valerie has been the recipient of IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) awards and has been nominated for a Grammy Award as part of the Ralph Stanley "Clinch Mountain Sweethearts" project.
“Wash Away Your Troubles” is a classic Appalachian, blue grass project. “The Rain” sets up a listener for a great experience. One of my personal favorites was “I will walk til I have “Wings to Fly.” This song in particular shows off Valerie’s beautiful voice. She sounds like a cross between Jeannie C. Riley & Sheri Easter. “Getting Ready for Sunday” tells the story of a family (likely one like my grandfather’s) getting ready for church on Sunday morning. “God’s Refrigerator” is a cute song. It reminds the listener that God sees you as His child so much that He puts your drawings and pictures on His refrigerator.
If you are a fan of bluegrass music, don’t miss an opportunity to go hear Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike. You won’t be disappointed.
