The following info has been availabe on SoGospelNews since 11:21 AM CST.

We received word this morning that Dottie Rambo was killed last night in a tour bus accident. Dottie was scheduled to appear at North Richland Hills, Texas at the Fountain Of Life Church at 10:30 AM with her dear friends Lulu Roman and Naomi Sego this morning, so we are assuming she was on route to Texas when the accident occurred.

We will post more info whrn it is received. Please be in prayer for the family at this time.

Reports indicate that the accident was weather-related, and that other passengers were also injured. The accident happened outside of Springfield, Missouri. Manager Larry Ferguson is in critical condition, but his wife and children appear to be fine. It is believed that the bus driver was also killed.

What a shocking piece of news!  Dottie will be sorely missed by all.  I got to see her in person a couple of years ago & this makes that night even more special than it was.  My prayers go out to the families & to the survivors.

Hello, Posters,

I have never visited your site before, but I was asked by my dear friend, LuLu Roman, if I would log on and simply convey her disappointment that someone chose to make the police report public here, on this forum.

She is not angry, she is too grief-stricken for that, but when her manager, Terry, told her that he had been told that the report was made public on this site, she called me at home and asked me to confirm it. When I had done so, she then asked if I would request that, if the site opts to keep the report posted here, that no one carries it elsewhere on the Internet, as she and Dottie’s daughter, Reba, are upset to learn that is is now posted.  This isn’t meant, in any way, to sound as if I am chiding anyone, please forgive me if this post has taken on that tone.  I did explain to her that the report is very superficial and is in no way graphic.  But I did give my word to her that I would register and make her feelings known.  LuLu loves her friends and fans very much and would not want to seem harsh by her disapproval but is simply very emotional right now and because she is my dearest friend and I love her very much, it was a simple enough request for me to carry out.

I realize that it is all very well for a stranger to show up on a message board and expect to be taken seriously, and for that, I can only say that I understand completely.  Anyone is welcome to visit my site http://www.rhondahanson.com and view not only my links, but book endorsement and the section “response from others” to verify that LuLu is someone with whom I am acquainted.

I thank you for your understanding and ask for your continued prayers for LuLu, Naomi, for Reba and her family and for the full recovery of those injured in this horrific accident.

In Christ,

Rhonda Hanson

We, along with the GPG Trio,  had the privilege of opening for Dottie 3 weeks ago at a concert in Branson, MO.

Chris and Larry had to help her onto the stage, as she was still suffering from a broken leg (she had broken her femur - the largest bone in the body) and they helped her onto a special high chair that allowed her to make her presentation from the stage while sitting at the proper height.

She did a full solid 2 hours! She kept the crowd on the edge of their seats and sang wonderfully. What a blessing she was! Then, she was so gracious to visit with us afterward and even pose for pictures with us. How accomodating and sweet of her!

Though I had met Larry Ferguson, her manager, briefly at NQC in Louisville a few years ago, and have exchanged messages with him for some time via Email and Internet, we first actually got acquainted that night 3 weeks ago. We also met Chris Barnes, her assistant manager and webmaster, and Ronnie Meadows, her bus driver. We got to talk with each of them that Sunday night, and also with Chris and Ronnie again the following Wednesday night, when Dottie sang at a church in our town.

This evening, in the ICU ward of one of our local hospitals, I took turns standing beside the bedsides of Larry, Chris and Ronnie - praying for each of them that God would bring quick and complete healing to them. I even got to pray for Larry’s father, who had just arrived in from Kentucky.

It was a blessing to be able to minister to them in their hour of need. But, everyone reading this ALSO has the same opportunity. It makes no difference if you are 2 feet from their bedside - or 2000 miles away. God hears each prayer regardless - and He will answer a prayer from 2000 miles away from the point of need as quickly and surely as He will from 2 feet away.

Pastors and theologians have for years given us formulas, teachings and lists on prayer - explaining how it works, why it works, when it doesn’t, how long it takes…...

Much of this teaching is profitable - perhaps all of it - but I will leave it to the theologians and people much smarter than I to explain fully the nuts and bolts and mechanics of prayer.

Here’s what I know - IT WORKS!. When God’s people pray - God hears. And the same Jesus who was moved with compassion when He saw the needs of the crowd is still moved with compassion today - and can reach out in mercy and heal that which is broken.

So - let’s make a concerted effort to all join in prayer for Larry, Chris and Ronnie - as well as their families and for Dottie Rambo’s family.

Because when we pray - God hears.

I’m listening to Solid Gospel radio online this AM and they are playing some good ole Rambo music - “I’ve Never Been This Homesick before”.  Isn’t it wonderful - Dottie is no longer homesick!

Praying for all Dottie’s family and all others involved in the accident.
