To Newbie02 and anyone else that is concerned about this topic.
Yes, Landy and Joy are no longer choir directors at Christ Church. I too was at the business meeting and I have very good close friends on staff at the church. I am also a church member. It was made very clear at the business meeting that Landy was in no way forced to resign. The resignation was his decision. In that business meeting, Pastor Dan informed us of the situation. He read Landy’s resignation letter to the church and read his response. He made no accusations. Landy cited philosophical differences as his reason for resigning. Pastor Dan did not elaborate. He was asked what those differences were and his response was that he would not comment. He would not want to misrepresent the differences that Landy was citing. No one can accuse him of putting words into anyone’s mouth by handling it the way he did. It was a picture of Christlike leadership. We do wish Landy and Joy both the very best.
As far as Christ Church Choir is concerned, they are sounding better than ever and are in the very capable hands of Regi Stone and Christopher Phillips. The choir has actually grown under the new leadership and has become a conduit of the Holy Spirit in our church. In short, renewal and revival have started taking place and it started manifesting itself in the choir. The rehearsals are very much a time of worship and great things are happening in the services. In short, Christ Church Choir remains one of the best choirs in the country (the best in my humble opinion).
Now, as to the road less traveled situation. Pastor Dan Scott preaches the truth (Bible) un-apologetically. In today’s churches (especially those that are very large like Christ Church) that is sometimes a hard thing to find. In short, many great days are ahead for Christ Church and the Christ Church Choir.
