I love love love love great Quartet Music. So when I got the news that I would get to review the latest project from the Texas based quartet PAUL’S JOURNEY, I was absolutely thrilled. I have heard this group several times in concert and seen them on the main stage at NQC and they always are one of the best out there. I also think they are still one of the best kept secrets in the Southern Gospel world, even though they have been around 38 years and they travel close to 200 dates a year. Rod Treme the owner, the founder and the bass extraordinaire of the group has to be one of the nicest and finest men in the business that you will ever meet. I love his heart and spirit and he has an incredible passion, zeal and love for the music and keeping the music alive. The group has went thru some personnel changes the last few years, but Rod has put together a great line up consisting of himself, Brad Davis, Matthew Esquivel and James Streetman. Their latest CD project entitled KEEP KEEPING ON is a wonderful showcase for the group. Incredible blend, fantastic quartet sound, wonderful songs and their hearts for Jesus are shown and demonstrated with every song they have chosen. The single for the project is called, I’M GONNA RISE and it is a rousing..clap your hands…get happy song about our someday journey to Heaven. The project starts off with a great song called PRAISE and then from there on out until the end of the project, it’s a fabulous tapestry of the journey we are all on. A few of my favorites songs on the project are THAT’S GOD’S STORY, the title song KEEP KEEPING ON, I NEEDED A SAVIOR and I absolutely love a huge ballad entitled, BRING ME BACK.
Paul’s Journey’s Keep Keepin On is your must have NEW project recommendation from me! Love this group…love their hearts and I love the NEW music they have prepared for us! I give it a 4 star rating! Take time to check it out and make sure if you can to go see them in concert. You won’t be disappointed.
