I love American History. It was my absolute favorite subject in school. I love to study on how America BECAME “America.”

Recently, Soul’d Out performed in a very historic city; Greeneville, TN. Greeneville was attacked during The Civil War and as I walked along its downtown area, many remnants of its past remains.
The Cumberland Presbyterian Church was the home church of (then) President Andrew Johnson. In the outside wall above the door, is an actual cannonball STILL intact from The Civil War.
In fact, they call it “The Cannonball Church.” I’m sure there have been some that wanted to remove it, but the lead ball serves as a reminder of the power of the structure.
Yes, the church building shows the scars of war and the stress of weather, but it STILL stands.
Matthew 25:35
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.”
When everything seems to be falling around us, be encouraged friend, that God’s Word STILL stands!
For centuries, men have tried to snuff it out, silence it, deny its truth- but God’s infallible word IS STILL relevant, reliable and revered.
Psalm 33:4 “For the word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does.”
In this world, where lies and half truths are told everyday, we can stand on God’s Word. It’s power and promises are eternal and everlasting.
For whatever we’re facing, God’s Word can still strengthen us, challenge us and change us.
‭‭
Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”
Prayer starter: “Father, thank You for Your Word. Thank You that Your Word became flesh (Jesus) and through Him, we can have hope and life! May I live out Your Word in my everyday life. In Jesus name, Amen.”
